SBB invited 40 journalists to witness the first commercial service of the TWINDEXX Swiss Express from Zurich to Berne. The SBB team was pleased everything went smoothly, and the train was on time.
The SBB project team is proud that the first commercial journey of the TWINDEXX Swiss Express on February 26, 2018, was a real success and the train arrived in Berne on time. The event drew a huge media crowd present and luckily, SBB reserved one first class car for journalists. Around 40 journalists from all over Switzerland (and some international media) attended. It was clear the media did not miss the first customer journey of the TWINDEXX Swiss Express.
Train 502 007 departed punctually at 11.55 a.m. in Zurich and travelled on the "old route" via Olten, Langenthal and Burgdorf to Berne. The direct feedback from journalists was positive. "Brighter, more spacious interior" was feedback often heard throughout the event. The driving characteristics and comfort were also positively connoted.
This is an important milestone and an achievement for Bombardier and the SBB, but especially for the project teams.
